HOUSTON, TX — Nov. 8, 2011 — Broadcast and digital distributor Anime Network announced the acquisition of the all new detective/mystery anime UN-GO, for their streaming service, Anime Network Online.
The second film follows right up where the first movie left off with Akira leaving for Japan to face the music and many enemies. Saki joins him and soon they are neck deep in a national conspiracy.
The second and final film is outstanding both in story delivery and solid animation. The Eden group is being framed as the terrorists behind Careless Monday and they are trying to find a way to stop it and help Akira. It is a difficult thing to do when they are suddenly fugitives on the run. Meanwhile Akira is busy trying to find out if he is truly the Prime Minister’s son and at the same time try to keep a step ahead of the diabolical Mononobe. The other Selecao are still around and the game for king is still on. However it seems to come down to Mononobe and Akira. The countdown is on, everyone is getting ready to make their final moves and another missile strike may be ready to launch.
The first episode has a serious revealing of Yuki’s life, the one she thought she had forgotten – until now. Before, the viewer was treated to flashbacks of a life she thought she knew, but these were just broken fragments of a truth she thought she would never know about, and Kaname, who she admired a great deal wanted to keep this truth hidden, and for good reason. Now the facade of her past has been broken away revealing instead, a different Yuki. Her new life was unleashed by Kaname at the end of the last episode of Vampire Knight – Guilty Vol: 2. He would like the rest of the Moon Dorm to think he has no regrets of what he has done to Yuki, but he does regret releasing her ‘inner vampire,’ even if it was the only thing he could do to protect her from a certain someone who wants to take over the Moon Dorm.
The author and artist of Ristorante Paradiso and House of Five Leaves offers a bittersweet anthology of 14 short stories that charm, make us think and generally tend to touch the heart.
As always, Natsume Ono appeals with a unique, open and engaging art style while offering thought provoking and emotionally evocative stories. Out of the many, all looking at life and the trials of the human heart, personal favorites included the tale of a man hoping to reunite with his wife and daughter, father and son able to connect over missing a wife and mother, and a tale about an orphan with amnesia and how she creates a world for herself to obtain a fragile bit of hope to take a big leap forward. In all, that story about the orphan girl is by far my most favorite of them all.

The first movie based on the popular Nintendo DS games is fairly true to the vein of the games it is adapted from. Although the first minute starts of a bit confusing as it begins more like a promo than a film, it quickly falls into a formulaic story. A girl and longtime friend of Layton and his sidekick Luke has arrived in town. An opera diva, she needs their help. Mysterious circumstances are occurring at the opera theatre she performs at and Layton has a nasty hunch that the recent missing girls may be connected to it.
