A young man with no memories fights to salvage his humanity when he’s forced into a life of murder by a dangerous crime syndicate called Inferno. The organization gives him a new name, Zwei, and molds him into a perfect killing machine, a meticulous instrument of death created to obey his masters’ every deadly command.
Zwei’s not the only puppet controlled by Inferno; Ein is a girl as beautiful as she is brutal and as lethal as she is lost. While mafia violence escalates around them, the two assassins grow closer, and Zwei begins the struggle to reclaim his past and save Ein from a blood-soaked future.
As Ichigo and his friends battle their way through the Arrancar stronghold, Chad is overcome by Espada Number Five Nnoitora – and the drop in his Spiritual Pressure is felt throughout Las Noches. Elsewhere, Uryu and Renji struggle against Szayelaporro, who has sealed away most of their abilities, and Orihime and Nel watch in horror as a Hollowfied Ichigo faces off against the exultant Grimmjow.
It’s a gripping penultimate chapter in the series as everything gears up towards the heart stopping finale. Junya learns of Shima’s fate and the growing threat Fraulein poses not only to Inukai’s plans, but also Junya’s. Fraulein is a ruthless organization that craves power and money at any cost to human life. With Inukai distracted by his bid for political power, it leaves Nekota city in Fraulein’s hands and Fraulein intends to keep it that way with their latest plan to take out Inukai.
Nyanko is still recovering and Takashi grows closer to his new human friends. He and Tanuma spend more time together, but when a strange rock leads to his dear friend being possessed, Takashi might rethink befriending humans.
