Issei Hyodo is back with all of his voluptuous friends, only this time he has more power than ever before. With the Excalibur swords and the Archangel Michael joining him in battle against the deadliest of foes yet, only time will tell if the Occult Research Club continues to thrive or if new leadership is needed to usher in a new magical era.
Right out of the gate you get Rias being the delicious and utterly unclothed devil that she is, snuggling her best devil newbie Issei. Its more antics in season 2 and new foes to face and babes to cuddle!
Issei is now a devil and Rias’ slave. He goes about trying to get people to make contracts with him but he’s bad at it. Pathetic really. He makes a new friend who does deal with him, but do you ever get a feeling when someone isn’t who they seem? Yep, you get what I’m saying.
There are a couple of different stories that converge. First and most important is that Kokabiel is a leader of the Fallen Angels in league with a bad guy who wants to start the Great War. The battle ends up being three episodes long! The buildup hits pretty soon and then it is all out war between God, Fallen Angels and Devils. In it, we get Kiba’s personal story arc regarding the Excalibur swords and his own reasons for being a devil. Another arc introduces us to Xenovia and Irina who have come to either collect our innocent new Devil or kill her. Hard to say.
That’s all before you even get to the halfway point in the series! The next big arc has Azazel, the angels, and an ‘Open House’ that sounds anything but friendly getting ready to happen. Devil King Leviathan shows up, a new Bishop appears – Gasper is a cross-dressing half-vampire. There is Vali the White Dragon Emperor and everybody seems to want a piece of Issei and his boosted gear. Speaking of pieces of Issei, naughty vixen Akeno is up to some pretty interesting ways to rile up Issei and Rias during a swimsuit episode. It’s tons of fun.
The second main arc doesn’t have as much punch as the first one but it sure has a fun parade of new characters and chaotic comedy mixed in with supernatural fun – and fan service. Issei is still the groping, hormonal perverted young guy us guys understand and his big heart and willingness to do whatever it takes, no matter the cost, to save the babes wins viewers over every time.
Like season 1, we are gifted with many bountiful bonus goodies! There are voice acting classes (tongue in cheek) taught by Japanese voice actress Yoko Hikasa (voice of Rias) with ‘students’ Risa Taneda (Xenovia), Maaya Uchida (Irina) and Ayane Sakura (Gasper), we also have promo videos, US trailer, Memories of Season 1, deleted scenes!!!, and New Material from Ichiei Ishibuni. Expect fun, expect more fun, and then add some more fun on top of that.
New enemies try to crush on Issei’s high with his babes! Fallen Angels, guardians of the All Mighty, and Devils that may care, all offer Hellacious fun in the fan service packed DxD season 2! Helluva great time!
