Mikito continues to try to find a way to reverse his turning into a human eating ogre! Too bad Hunters are after him left, right and center. The fight with Suguri is going bad but things only get worse when the person responsible for Mikito’s condition, Zakuro, resurrects himself to put some hurt on Suguri!
Weirdness is afoot this time when Zakuro makes an appearance and that little dude is super creepy and scary powerful! He makes short work of Suguri and it has Gogyo wondering just what the heck is really going on with Mikito. He’s so curious in fact that when they go for first aid and recouping at a village for beat up Kugai, Gogyo calls on his fellow palls in the White Claw. They’re an interesting bunch who have their own set of monster abilities. He ropes some of them into finding out the secret the Hunters and Ogre rivalry has been hiding all these years. To do so, they send Mikito to Hunter training. He’s going to have a rough time facing the five trials he needs to win to become stronger, but it’s the White Claw who has to look out! Someone does not like Gogyo’s poking around.
Members of the Black Thorn meet up with the White Claw in a hidden underground labyrinth. The White Claw has some great fighters but the Black Thorn ones are better and more vicious than the White Claw any day of the week! They are hard up against a wall and they know it. Just what kind of secret is the Hunter society trying to keep buried – even if it means burying all of them!
Cool moves, dire battles and secrets make for great reading. The art can get chaotic. It’s too busy during action sequences especially to understand what is happening visually with ease. But that will hopefully get smoothed out with time as the series progresses because the story is a whopper of a good one so far!
New mysteries are met with deadly opposition when the Black Thorn comes to stop Gogyo from nosing around to find answers!
