After a huge fight on the beach, a new player shows his hand.  Manta’s father now shows his interest in the fight.  For what purpose, who knows?  And Manta has no idea his father is around.

Ren, Yoh, Joco, and Horohoro are all back from their stint in hell, just in time to battle each other!  Ren wants to take Yoh completely out of the fight, and the others in Team Ren agree with him but maybe not his methods.  When Team Ren takes out both Faust and Ryo, Yoh steps up to take them all on!  The fight is very intense and there seems to be no clear winner early on!  At the end, however, a surprise shows up and the finalists are declared without much more ado!

Meanwhile, Anna and Hao fight to give other shamans time to escape.  But while Hao’s backup, the Hana-Gumi team, is on its way, they get killed and arrive as ghosts!  When they do show up, Hao considers them more as something to replenish his manna, not his trusted underlings.  Anna attacks to distract him long enough for Yoh to show up and stop him for a bit.  Then the twin brothers do something very unexpected.

Also, during the Team Ren vs. Team Funbari Hotsprings, Ren’s family (the Taos) and Yoh’s family (the Asakuras) are talking over what will happen in the last battle of the shaman fight.  What will come out of this?

Many things start coming to a head in this volume, so this volume is one not to be missed!
