The match between Team Ren and the Gandala gets intense as Tao Ren downs one of them. The next one up, Jackson, is a lot tougher that he looks. Ren fights to win, but his part ends early. Joco has the same problem. Now only Horohoro is left. One would think Horohoro is a hothead through and through, but a glimpse into the training that Team Ren did with Joco’s spirit ally, Pascual Abaj the Indo-shaman shows that not all is what it seems. During this fight, Horohoro proves that he is as strong, or stronger, than even Ren. His oversoul levels up beyond anything revealed yet!
Part of Horohoro’s past is revealed, telling why he became a shaman and why friends are so important to him. Following one’s destiny can get lonely after a while.
Meanwhile, Yoh, Ryu and Faust go off to train after seeing how strong Team Ren is. Before they could start, the leader of Gandala, Sati, sends Yoh to a place so dangerous that he might not survive to tell the tale. If he does survive, he will be stronger than ever before!
The art is still as wonderfully detailed and unique as ever! The story is getting very good and intriguing with the final battle looming in the background. More questions are asked and some are even answered in this volume. The story of Horohoro’s past is one of the most interesting parts of this volume.
As the final battle draws ever closer, Yoh and the others must fight to win! The battle continues in this latest volume of Shaman King!
