The final volume, the final battle, and for some, the final breath in the climatic conclusion of Buso Renkin. Kazuki is transformed by his Black Kakugane in a battle to the finish with Victor on the moon. Below, Tokiko and the rest of the Alchemist Warriors race to stop Papillon Mask before he brings about an end to the world. It’s a fight to the finish in every corner in the exciting finale of this action packed and ever compelling manga series. It’s the fight that will win the war, but who will walk away victorious and alive? There’s a lot of tense moments and suspense in every chapter leading up to the end of this great and exhilarating manga series.

Discoveries, revelations and ultimate sacrifices abound in the final volume. Things end with a bang. And the author doesn’t disappoint. He does a fabulous job of covering all fronts and the various characters, juggling them effectively. And the story comes full circle in an amazing way. I loved every minute of it. There’s even a special bonus story at the end that serves both as an epilogue and a back story when readers get to see how the survivors are managing and find out Tokiko’s story about how she became and Alchemist Warrior and got that scar on her face.

On top of the extensive author and translation notes as well as Buso Renkin files in this last manga, there is also an extensive and utterly riveting bonus story that has nothing to do with Buso Renkin, but does touch heavily on alchemy. Called “Embalming – Corpse and Bride’, Nabuhiro Watsuki offers a fresh, dark and utterly original take on the story of Frankenstein. It is a wonderfully compelling tale, filled with disturbing events and vicious violence, but spellbinding throughout. It could be the amazing start to a whole new series. Fans can only hope the author picks this story up and decides to continue it at some point down the road. It has immeasurable potential.

IN SUMMARY:
Buso Renkin finishes with an all out war for humanity in the final volume of this thrilling action series.
