Train and his friends had barely escaped Creed and the Apostles’ clutches unscathed. Now the war between the Apostles and the Chronos Numbers heats up and becomes public! Casualties and loss are felt on both sides, but dissention grows in the ranks of the Apostles as two desert after one of their own is killed. When Train comes across one of the deserters, he gets between her and a very special bullet filled with nano-machines, which cause a startling transformation in the Black Cat! And this is only the beginning!

This is loaded with character flashbacks, pivotal changes and stand out battles as the war between the Apostles and Chronos builds to a deafening roar. For the first time we get an inside look at the life of the Apostles and a closer look at two of their members; Charden and Kyoko. There are also flashbacks to Train’s pivotal childhood moments, his first meeting with Sephiria, and viewers even get a look at the inside of Chronos as they try to rally their numbers, both figuratively and literally.

There are so many pivotal moments in this volume, its enthralling. The stand out scene would have to be the duel between Charden and Chronos Number 1 – Sephiria! Visually stunning, the way Sephiria fights is like a noble female knight with incredible sword skills. And Charden’s preternatural abilities due to the Tao are impressive to watch. With the Black Cat caught in the middle of these two dueling lethal entities, it made for one of the more arresting scenes of the show this volume. It also is a contributing part of a fascinating exchange that occurs between Sephiria and Train.

Creed shows his psychotic colors more and more as the show progresses, even to the extent of alienating some of his own Apostles! When Chronos takes another step to end him by putting and insane bounty on his head, a Sweeper Alliance is formed. However, when news of it all hits Train, it may mean a parting of the ways between him and Sven.
