Four-time consecutive U.S. Junior tournament champ Ryoma Echizen comes to Seishun Academy to further his reign as The Prince of Tennis. His skill is matched only by his attitude – irking some but impressing all as he leads his team to the Nationals and beyond!
The grueling match between Jin and Shusuke comes to a climatic finish in this volume. In the aftermath, Keigo and Kunimitsu face off in the most punishing match yet! It’s Hyotei versus Seishun in the final round of the game that will decide which team will go on to the Nationals!
Sports shonen at its best, Prince of Tennis pulls out all the stops to give its readers suspenseful and an adrenaline packed story. The sheer guts of the players is shown, especially towards the end of this volume as the players learn just how much Kimitsu is willing to sacrifice for the sake of his team. It’s those kinds of noble actions and higher deeds that puts this sports manga on the top of its genre. The art work is also exiting. It’s fast paced but fluid and easy to follow with telling character expressions and body movement.
Prince of Tennis is a manga that gives its all to give the readers exciting sports action and suspenseful drama. It’s easy to see from its pages why this is one of the anime series, both still going strong in Japan
