three things

Posted on January 10, 2008 at 4:44 pm by Dallas

Thing one: PW Comics Week has broken the news: We have acquired the rights to publish Kujibiki Unbalance! If you read this blog, you know how much I love Genshiken. While I’m sure that there are some of you out there that are as happy as I am, all I really care about is being able to add the book to my home manga shelf. Hooray! (Okay, okay, I do care about what you want, but that’s how much I love Genshiken!) (And for those of you not in the know, KujiUn is the fictional manga and anime that the Genshiken read and watch in Del Rey’s Genshiken manga.)

Thing two: We’re number one! And you don’t just have to take my word for that. ComicRankings.com has compiled over 5000 reviews and averaged them out, and Del Rey is the highest rated graphic novel publisher. We actually started dancing here when we heard the news. Okay, maybe it was just me. (I danced a jig, in case you were interested.)

Thing three: I left Death Note off of my “top ten manga for 2007″ list! Unbelieveable. Doubtless it’s the first of several titles that will occur to me in the coming weeks, but just consider it a top 11 list for now.
